Calling All Artists!

Gallery Fifty-Five is currently seeking a working member artists to join our Gallery!  We currently have an opening for an artist of 3D work (can be displayed on pedestals, benches, etc).  Please see our membership page for details.

GALLERY FIFTY-FIVE, in McCall, Idaho, is a co-op gallery, currently of 17 artists, including painters, jewelers, ceramic, glass, wood, fiber and metal artists.  We strive to represent local artists of original works in a variety of media and styles.  The gallery also carries art prints, greeting cards and other gifts created by our artists.

WE HAVE MOVED!  As of May 1st, 2014, our new location is at 307 Park Street, Suite 4, which faces Highway 55, directly across from My Father’s Place in downtown McCall.

Please join us for the evening of July 4th to celebrate original works by local artists from McCall and the greater region, including our newest ceramic artist Kris Mannion.  Free refreshments.  Regular hours are 11am to 5pm every day.


Gallery Fifty-Five artist, Noreen Shanafelt, is offering a batik workshop in McCall at her cabin near the lake on Friday June 20th, 10:00am to 4:00pm,  if we can find enough interested participants.  Cost will be $40, to include all supplies.  Noreen is a talented artist, a long-time art teacher, with delightful energy and encouraging attitude.  Some of Noreen’s batik images are shown below.

McCall book artist, Mare Blocker, is included in the Idaho Triennial at the Boise Art Museum, which continues through April. Blocker’s book, Archive:threshold, is a series of responses to non-traditional photographs from the studio of Charly Bloomquist. Photographs and pages are marked with thread, needles, and wood.

Sixty five works by 40 Idaho artists were chosen by Juror  Bonnie Laing-Malcolmson,  the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Northwest Art at the Portland Art Museum in Oregon. Blocker’s work was also chosen for the Boise Art Museum’s Benefit Gala Auction, A Sense of Art, Saturday, March 1, 2014. Mare is a member of MAC and Gallery 55 in McCall. She is also the President of the Book Arts Guild and on the Executive Board of the College Book Arts Association.
